1930 marked the beginning of the Nobby Clothes Shop. This landmark business has been under the management and supervision of the Levine family for the last three generations. The Nobby Clothes Shop is devoted to bringing the Nantucket Island community and visitors quality merchandise and brand name products at realistic prices.
During the 1970s, the Nobby Clothes Shop began producing heavy weight, all cotton 8.5 oz twill sailing pants, shorts, long sleeve shirts and caps called “Breton Reds”. This uniquely colored fabric is closely associated with the Island of Nantucket.
In 1987, the original building dating to 1846 was completely renovated, creating an attractive and inviting space for customers to shop and browse. Our resourceful and committed staff is on hand to assist you with your purchases and to make your visit to the Nobby Clothes Shop on historic Nantucket productive and pleasant.
